I often use this game in my classrooms for peer tutoring.
The
children and I generate individualised word wordlists for the game
during a guided reading sessions. This ensures the students are practising
words they know they need to focus on.
Next we go to the computer and they type their words into the template
and I check them. At this point we discuss what might be the 'tricky
bit' of the word. The part of the word which might 'make learning
easier' if we changed its colour.
The
games are then printed and placed into a plastic sleeve. The children
play each other using their gameboards. First person to win 5 games
reigns supreme.
